Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer experienced in building scalable, high-performance data systems on the cloud. The ideal candidate will build and maintain robust data pipelines for cloud based data warehouses, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and efficiency across all stages of the data lifecycle. Prior work experience with large, complex and disparate datasets preferably in Financial Services or Fintech domains (although not mandatory).
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, Spark, AWS Glue, DBT etc to process large-scale datasets.
Work with large-scale structured and unstructured data from multiple sources, ensuring data quality and consistency in the Enterprise Data Warehouse.
Execute complex SQL queries and functions for data analysis, transformation and performance tuning.
Integrate external APIs and real-time data streams, ensuring secure and reliable data ingestion pipelines.
Applied experience of tactical and optimal data modelling and reporting performance.
Liaise with internal stakholder, vendors and service providers to execute data feeds onto internal/external cloud data stores.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, Data Scientists, Analysts, and Product teams to understand data requirements.
Monitor and troubleshoot data workflows to ensure reliability, efficiency, and performance at scale.
Participate in architecture discussions to build scalable and maintainable data infrastructure.
Document data processes, support data governance and maintain data lineage.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
At least 5+ years experience as a Data Engineer, preferably in the FS or Fintech sectors.
Strong programming skills in Python (Pandas, NumPy) and Apache Spark (PySpark).
Expertise in working with RDBMS platforms e.g. DB2, SQLServer, MySQL, PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, Redshift.
Hands-on expertise within AWS data ecosystem (S3, Glue, Redshift, Lambda, RDS, EMR, KDS).
Experience with layered medallion data architecture, data lakes, data modelling, CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure.
Knowledge of FS or Fintech domain data, including trading transactions, regulatory compliance etc is a strong plus.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Experience with containerization (Docker), orchestration tools (Airflow), and version control (Git).
Knowledge of machine learning pipelines and real-time data processing.
